Standing in front of a model or still life to begin a new painting, I am intrigued by the possibilities. I look. I admire. I look again. And then my painting process begins.

I analyze, measure, draw, decide, redraw, experiment, develop, paint and re-paint, until finally, an image emerges.

This image represents what was in front of me, but it has been transformed through my process, my mark making, and the alchemy of combining canvas and oil pigment. It has become a record of a moment.
